ABOUT THE TOOL
How the Minecraft Dome Generator works
A Minecraft dome is the upper half of a block sphere. The generator starts at the widest base ring and removes the lower half, giving you only the layers needed for a hemisphere roof.
Choose a diameter and build Layer 1 at the dome base. Continue upward one layer at a time until the peak. Hollow produces an open interior suitable for roofs; Filled produces a solid hemisphere.
Designed for actual block building
Every colored cell represents one Minecraft block. Center axes keep the plan aligned, and Download current blueprint saves the exact grid currently shown. The layout works for both Java and Bedrock builds.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I build a dome in Minecraft?
Start with the widest base layer, then move upward one block at a time while following each progressively smaller blueprint until the peak closes.
What is the difference between a dome and a sphere?
A sphere includes both its upper and lower halves. A dome uses only the upper hemisphere, making it suitable for roofs and covered halls.
Should a Minecraft dome be hollow or filled?
Hollow is normally best for roofs because it leaves usable interior space. Filled is useful when the dome is part of solid terrain or a sculpted mound.
How many layers does a dome need?
The number depends on the diameter. The layer control displays the exact base-to-peak sequence for the selected size.
